Description

This is a vinyl LP repressing of an album by a jazz icon. If someone claims not to understand Jimmy Smith, just play them this album. It features top - notch Hammond B3 playing, enhanced by Lalo Schifrin's vibrant big - band arrangements. 'Basin Street Blues' breaks away from 1960s sophistication, and 'Delon's Blues' is dedicated to French actor Alain Delon, whom Smith befriended in Europe in 1963. Some reviewers accused Smith of being 'too commercial' when the album was released and since, but this joyful and fabulous album likely introduced more people to jazz than many of its contemporaries.

To use this vinyl LP, first make sure your record player is clean and in good working condition. Place the LP gently on the turntable, and use the tonearm to carefully lower the needle onto the start of the record. Listen at a comfortable volume. When you're done, lift the tonearm gently and return it to its rest. Store the LP in its sleeve to protect it from dust and scratches. Avoid exposing it to extreme heat or humidity, as this can damage the vinyl. Also, don't touch the playing surface with your fingers to prevent leaving oils and dirt.
