This is a vinyl LP pressing of Amadjar, the ninth album by Tinariwen. In the Tamashek language, Amadjar means 'the unknown visitor', someone seeking hospitality and condemned to inner exile. The album's story starts at the end of 2018 at the Taragalte Festival in the Moroccan Sahara. After a concert and a sandstorm, Tinariwen sets off on a journey through Southern Morocco, Western Sahara, and the Atlantic coast to Mauritania. Here, the journey is as significant as the destination.
