Though that didn't happen, we're lucky to have this 1974 double - LP. This Gabriel - era Genesis masterpiece almost made it to the Top 40. It's a stunning work, combining hypnotic instrumentals with catchy rockers. Tracks like the classic title track, 'In the Cage', 'Back in N.Y.C.', 'The Carpet Crawlers', 'Lilywhite Lilith', 'Riding the Scree' and more are absolute gems. 'The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway' is Genesis' sixth studio album and the last one with Peter Gabriel as the lead singer before his 1975 departure.
