'Mutations' is American alternative rock artist Beck's third official studio album and sixth overall, released in 1998 on DGC Records. While less commercially successful than 'Odelay', it showcases Beck as an eclectic and innovative artist. He combines various musical genres like folk rock, bossa nova, psychedelia, country, and blues without using samples. The album won a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. Produced by Nigel Godrich, known for his work with Radiohead, it features Moog keyboards, acoustic guitars, and string arrangements. Its production style is quite different from 'Odelay', which was hip-hop influenced and full of samples.
