Since the release of their debut album 'Tales of the Wicked West' in August 2016, MaidaVale has toured Europe extensively. Their captivating performances and psychedelic grooves have won over audiences. Their live sound has always been influenced by the 60s and 70s experimental scene, and they've reinvented it on the new album. Working with producer Jari Haapalainen, they've delved deeper into kraut and experimental music. The strong melodic and psychedelic elements from their debut are the foundation of their upcoming second album, 'Madness is too Pure', which will be released on The Sign Records on March 24th. The music is based on the monotone union of Johanna Hansson and Linn Johannesson's rhythm section and Matilda Roth's hypnotic vocals. Sofia Ström's dazzling guitar playing adds depth. 'Madness Is Too Pure' brings MaidaVale closer to bands like NEU!, Amon Düül II, Public Image Ltd and Siouxsie and the Banshees. The album was produced and mixed by Jari Haapalainen, who has worked with many well - known artists. It was recorded in six days in November 2017 at The End Studio outside Lund, Sweden, engineered by Tommy Tift.
