From the legendary vocalist Pat Thomas comes 'Pat Thomas Introduces Marijata', a groundbreaking Ghanaian album. It masterfully blends highlife, reggae, folk, funk, and soul. Originally released in 1976 on Gapophone Records. The group Marijata consists of three talented members from Ghana - Kofi 'Electric' Addison on drums, Bob Fischlan on organ, and Nat Osmanu on guitar. Pat Thomas started his career in 1969 with the 'Broadway Dance Band' and then moved on to various groups like the 'Uhuru Dance Band' and Ebo Taylor's 'Blue Monks'. In 1973, he formed the 'Sweet Beans' and made his mark. The group released 'False Lover' in 1974, reformed as Marijata, and released 'Marijata' (also available on Mr Bongo) along with this album.
