Crumb's second LP, Ice Melt, kicks off with a chaotic scene and wraps up with a lullaby. Front woman Lila Ramani aimed to come back to earth from a strange, floating state and write about real substances and beings on our planet. The sounds are more down - to - earth, bringing out feelings of both isolation and deep connection. Recorded on 2 - inch tape by analog experts Jonathan Rado and Michael Harris, Ice Melt is Crumb's most daring song collection so far, sometimes fully in control and sometimes ready to go into the unknown.
