In Wilderness

Stranger Cat is Cat Martino's new project. She was Sufjan Stevens' right - hand for the Age of Adz tour and record, and was part of All Delighted People. She also recorded and toured with Sharon Van Etten's band around the time of Epic. Cat has made TV appearances with The Shins and played in Passion Pit. She sings on the Son Lux record Lanterns. Cat left Brooklyn for the Sierra Foothills in winter. There, she used her voice, synths, and percussion to write and record songs from loops. In a small cottage, with her pedal chain and gear, she created sounds from ethereal to turbulent. Simple melodies turned into powerful soundscapes, fitting for snowstorms and starry nights. Joined by Sven Britt for a week, they traded making beats on various instruments. 'In The Wilderness', their debut full - length, releases on April 14th via Joyful Noise Recordings.
