In 2013, Night School came to life through the close friendship of guitarist/vocalist Alexandra Morte and drummer/vocalist Baylie Arin. After recording their first EP, Heartbeat, bassist Cheyenne Avant joined to complete the trio. Heartbeat was released in October 2014, followed by a split EP with Dott called Carousel. In 2015, Night School shared the stage with Best Coast, Whirr, and Creepoid. After the 2016 debut album Blush, featuring songs by Baylie and Alexandra, work on Disappear Here began. During recording, drummer/vocalist Baylie Jimenez left and was replaced by Cara LP. Disappear Here was crafted over 2 years and recorded with Nick Bassett in Oakland from 2017 - 2018. It features songs written and sung by Alexandra Morte and Cheyenne Avant. The band aimed for a cleaner, more refined sound, moving away from doo - wop and 60s influences. Influenced by Sunny Day Real Estate, Letters to Cleo, and Fleetwood Mac, Disappear Here is set for a Spring 2019 release, followed by a small West Coast tour in April.
