Contrary to common belief, Times New Viking's members are art school graduates, not dropouts. Instead of choosing the dull gallery route and regular unemployment, they started a band in 2003 when DIY was unfashionable. Comprising Beth Murphy on keyboards/vocals, Adam Elliott on drums/vocals, and Jared Phillips on guitar, the band began quietly. From their noise - filled basement tapes that lured Siltbreeze Records founder Tom Lax out of retirement to indie - elite Matador Records, their star has risen. 'Dancer Equired', their first album for Merge, is a homecoming, even though its creation was outside their norm. In the summer of violence, they went to studios like Columbus Discount Recording and the famous Musicol. With Adam Smith and Dustin White's help, they recorded an album that sounds like a relaxing night out. It ditches the past's angry outbursts but keeps the loud, bold guitars and enhances the band's bright, beautiful qualities from the start.
To enjoy 'Dancer Equired', simply play it on your preferred music device like a CD player, music app on your phone, or a stereo system.
