This limited vinyl LP comes with an insert sharing the fascinating story of these cherished sessions, as recounted by Tomy Peltier. Born in New Orleans, Tommy Peltier moved to Los Angeles with his mom on his 13th birthday. A decade later, he was a regular cornet player with his group, the Jazz Corps, at the renowned jazz club, The Lighthouse. In 1966, the Jazz Corps released an album for Pacific Jazz, featuring the amazing Roland Kirk. In 1970, an injury forced Peltier to stop playing the horn. Undeterred, he used chords learned from friends like Judee Sill - who became a collaborator, lover, and lifelong friend - and embarked on a singer - songwriter career. The music was collected as the Astral Light Chariot. Judee contributed backing vocals, guitar, and organ on half of the disc. Peltier held weekly Saturday recording sessions in his Echo Park house, which were attended by many, including Lynn Blessing, Wolfgang Melz, Dave Parlato, and Barry McManus. Most of the recordings were done in that small room, with only a few at actual studios.
