Distant Companion

Aria Rostami from Brooklyn, NY and Daniel Blomquist from San Francisco, CA create music in two stages: gathering source material and live performance. Their source material focuses on information exchange, repetition, decay, and surrendering creative control. Blomquist samples and alters it, or Rostami composes and records it. 'Distant Companion' is their third full - length album, named after the multiple star Polaris with a rich history related to civil rights and our cosmic origins. The first two songs were recorded at a protest performance in San Francisco, sampling Persian poets' voices. This album stands on the shoulders of protest art, aiming to contribute to the equality conversation. All songs are mastered for vinyl by George Horn, with a cover by Anthony Gerace and a post - card included.
