This is a vinyl LP pressing. In 2017, The Drums released the highly - praised Abysmal Thoughts, which was the band's first solo project by Jonny Pierce. Two years later, they brought out their amazing fifth LP, Brutalism, centered on self - care. It's likely the best song collection in the band's ten - year career. Similar to Pierce, Brutalism is a bicoastal record, written and recorded between Upstate New York and a studio in Stinson Beach. After a tough experience and a very difficult time living only in Los Angeles, Pierce decided to confront his inner demons, and making this record was part of that journey. As he focused on his mental health, creating Brutalism became an act of self - care for him, resulting in some of his most sincere and relatable music so far.
