This 2016 vinyl LP, the sixth kranky album by Thomas Meluch under the alias Benoit Pioulard, marks the 10th anniversary of his first LP Précis. It refocuses on self - examination and returns to vocal - based pop structures after the mostly instrumental Sonnet in 2015. Recorded during a time of grief, turmoil, and self - medication, and continuing through two years of growth and healing. It features reflections on vice, virtue, and death, targeting the flawed but resilient part in all of us. Coincidentally completed on the day Meluch's only brother died, it's dedicated to him and those fighting their inner demons.
