The Residents don't usually follow traditions. But for their first major release, they love revisiting and reinventing it for each new era. They've recomposed Santa Dog at least 8 times since its creation. This tune is a symbol for both The Residents and their fans, showing the band's growth from a naive group to seasoned artists over decades. After adding 2 new members and nearing 50 years in the art scene, they felt it was time to deconstruct and reconstruct Santa Dog again. Now, to mark their 45th anniversary, they present Santa Dog '17 on 7' vinyl. This darker, more intense version of Santa Dog will surely please Residents fans this holiday season and bring the composition into the band's current artistic phase.
