Please Hold on / Love on Vacation

Led by songwriter Max Bien - Kahn, Max and the Martians are a New Orleans - based rock and roll dance band with a diverse mix of musicians. They play heartwarming songs about love and dogs. After their recent EP Curtains, they're releasing the 7' teaser single 'Please Hold On/Love on Vacation', featuring two tracks that will be on their next full - length album. 'Please Hold On' is a warm, hazy, and melancholic tune recorded in spring 2018 at Mashed Potato Records' studio with Duff Thompson and Bill Howard. On the other hand, 'Love on Vacation' is a fun, upbeat summer pop song recorded around the same time with Video Age bandleader Ross Farbe. Mashed Potato Records will release this 7' single on September 20, 2019. Besides leading Max and the Martians, Bien - Kahn is also actively involved in many New Orleans projects, notably as a guitarist in the traditional jazz band Tuba Skinny. He often collaborates with Esther Rose, Duff Thompson, and other songwriters and is a regular session musician on Mashed Potato Records' new compilations.
