Description

Guitarist Kenny Burrell was already a rising star with several great Blue Note albums when he entered The Five Spot Café in NYC on August 25, 1959, to record On View At The Five Spot Café. The band he put together was full of top talent, including Art Blakey on drums, Tina Brooks on tenor saxophone, Roland Hanna and Bobby Timmons on piano, and Ben Tucker on bass. That steamy summer evening was filled with relaxed and soulful music, hot beats, and deep grooves. The newly expanded 3 - LP Tone Poet Vinyl Edition of On View At The Five Spot Café: The Complete Masters gives you the best listening experience. It's the first time Burrell's complete performances from that magical night are available, with 6 previously unissued tracks. Produced by Joe Harley, the all - analog vinyl is cut directly from Rudy Van Gelder's original master tapes by Kevin Gray. Pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, the three LPs come in a deluxe tip - on trifold jacket. It includes a booklet with never - before - seen photos by Francis Wolff, an insightful essay by Syd Schwartz, and a new interview with Burrell himself about the album and his time with Blue Note President Don Was. This product is excluded from site - wide sales/discounts, and limited to 4 per customer. Tracklist: 1. Introduction By Kenny Burrell / Birks' Works; 2. Hallelujah; 3. Lady Be Good; 4. Lover Man; 5. 36 - 23 - 36; 6. Swingin'; 7. If You Could See Me Now; 8. Beef Stew Blues; 9. The Next Time You See Me, Things Won't Be The Same; 10. The Take Off; 11. Birks' Works alternate take; 12. Lady Be Good alternate take; 13. Love Walked In; 14. 36 - 23 - 36 / The Theme.

Using this vinyl record is easy. Just place it on your turntable, gently drop the needle on the record's edge, and enjoy the amazing jazz music. Store the record in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep it upright in a record rack to prevent warping. When not in use, always put the record back in its protective sleeve inside the deluxe jacket. And remember, this product is excluded from site - wide sales/discounts, and you can buy a maximum of 4 per customer.
