Splendor & Misery

This is a vinyl LP pressing. Since the release of CLPPNG, the band members have been busy. William completed his Ph.D. in Theater and Performance Studies with a dissertation on experimental music. Jonathan composed scores for several films like Starry Eyes and The Nightmare. Daveed made it to Broadway. Their off - band activities have deeply influenced their work in Clipping, especially in creating Splendor & Misery. It's an Afrofuturist, dystopian concept album. It follows the sole survivor of a slave uprising on an interstellar cargo ship and the onboard computer that falls in love with him. Alone in space, the character discovers music in the ship's hull and instrument panels. William and Jonathan map out the ship's sonic world, while Daveed's lyrics flow with the ship's engine rhythms. Unlike H.P. Lovecraft's idea of cosmic insignificance, the character finds comfort in humanity's unimportance. In the end, he chooses to fly into the unknown instead of going to oppressive worlds.

To enjoy this vinyl LP, simply place it on your turntable and let the needle gently drop on the record. Make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition. When handling the vinyl, always hold it by the edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches. After each use, store the LP in its protective sleeve to keep it safe from dust and damage.
