Band member Robin Pecknold says 'Shore feels like a relief, like reaching the sand after a riptide.' It's a life - celebration in the face of death, honoring musical heroes like David Berman, John Prine, Judee Sill, and Bill Withers. The album was recorded in multiple top - notch studios including Aaron Dessner's Long Pond Studio in upstate New York, Studios St. Germain in Paris, the legendary Vox in Los Angeles, Diamond Mine in Long Island City, and New York City's Electric Lady.
