Old Time Relijun, an otherworldly group from Olympia, Washington, is back with their new EP, See Now And Know [KLP272]. After a mysterious ten - year break, the classic Catharsis in Crisis [KLP184] lineup is reunited. This includes bandleader Arrington de Dionyso, Aaron Hartman on upright bass, Germaine Baca on drums, and Benjamin Hartman on saxophone and percussion. Their 9th studio recording is a spontaneous explosion of fiery music, crafted from within. Resistance, magic, and hope fuel a deeper exploration. The songs are quintessential OTR: sexy, free - spirited, and offer sing - along fun at the edge of the volcano. 'Dragon Juice' creates a dance party in a perilous lair, 'I Know I'm Alive' sharpens an inspired mountain moment, and 'El Naranjo Gritando' gets us up close to the wild. There's a real, tangible sense of urgency in this recording.
