Description
In 2017, Godthrymm was founded by vocalist/guitarist Hamish Glencross, an esteemed UK metal figure from bands like ex-My Dying Bride, Vallenfyre, and Solstice. He returns to his doom metal origins, crafting music reminiscent of his work on Solstice's 'New Dark Age' and with My Dying Bride from 2000 - 2014. Joining him is ex-My Dying Bride/Anathema drummer Shaun Taylor - Steels. After refining the lineup post - 'A Grand Reclamation' EP, they became the core. Together, they recorded the epic debut album 'Reflections'. Later, bassist Bob Crolla joined, forming a powerful doom trio. This debut unleashes heavy, mournful, yet pounding traditional doom, harking back to the '90s UK doom and Peaceville Records era. It's a huge leap from the debut EP, with Glencross taking the band into darker, melancholic realms. Glencross's soaring vocals and powerful riffs, combined with Steels's thunderous percussion, create a glorious rhythm. 'Reflections' pays homage to the golden days of UK doom and emerges as a new force.
