Pet Town

For Dutch/Croatian songwriter and visual artist Marina Tadic, Pet Town is a precious time in solitude. As Eerie Wanda's second LP and the first for Joyful Noise Recordings, it's a stripped - down spectral work. Anchored by Tadic's wistful lyrics and self - possessed vocals, it creates a unique musical experience. Mixed by Jasper Geluk, the album uses warm, homespun recordings. Live drums are replaced with handclaps, finger snaps, and a Roland - CR 78 drum machine, adding a tactile and intimate feel. Tadic shaped these ten songs on intuition, inspired by solitude. It can bring both euphoria and loneliness, inner meditation and outer yearning. Tadic herself is still unsure how Pet Town came to be. 'I wrote the songs during my time alone, and it brought me growth.' Eerie Wanda turns turbulent emotions into a comforting balance, as if a shamanic voice from the future. 'I believe I'm connected to another dimension that sends me songs when I'm in the right state.'
