Pastel Blues

This is a vinyl LP named Pastel Blues. It features the song 'Be My Husband', penned by Andrew Stroud, who was Simone's husband and manager at that time. Simone sings it a cappella, with just hand - clapping and a hi - hat for accompaniment. Later, the song was retitled 'Be Your Husband' and covered by Jeff Buckley in 2003. The album also includes covers of Billie Holiday's classics, 'Tell Me More and More and Then Some' and 'Strange Fruit'. Nina Simone, an American singer, songwriter, and civil rights activist, blended gospel, pop, and classical music, especially Johann Sebastian Bach, with her expressive contralto voice.
