In 2007, at the 'All Star Jam' of the ProgpowerUSA Festival, Floor Jansen, the current NIGHTWISH singer, and Jorn Viggo Lofstad, the PAGAN'S MIND guitarist, unexpectedly joined forces on stage for cover - songs. They instantly felt the creative spark between them. Despite never having met before, they shared a passion for stripped - down hard rock and decided to write songs together. In 2008, hardly knowing each other, they quickly composed an album's worth of material. However, due to their busy schedules with their main bands, their project, Northward, remained in the shadows until now!
