Nocturnals (White Vinyl)

This is a limited white vinyl LP released in 2017. Back in 1989, the Swedish band Stillborn dropped 'Necrospirituals', now a cult classic and possibly the first gothic metal album. Though the term 'gothic metal' wasn't coined then, it's quite different from today's version. Zodijackyl at the Metal archives aptly described Stillborn as melding doom metal's gloomy horror - film roots with gothic rock's morbid aesthetics. Despite being relatively unknown, the band influenced big names like Paradise Lost, Entombed, and Cathedral. In 2016 - 2017, the original members reunited, recording 10 new songs (47 min) in the spirit of their debut. Recorded and mixed by Henrik Stendahl at studio Juicy Halftone in Copenhagen. They also plan a reunion tour in autumn 2017. On 'Nocturnals', the band refines their sound, yet old fans will recognize the original Stillborn essence. The lyrics are still sinister with a subtle twist, and the music is as loud, dark, and heavy as a monolith. Since announcing their comeback and new record, they've received a great response from fans.
