Three months later, another email offered more details: the artist's name (Irma Orm), her location (Stockholm), and a bit of background (she worked alone, and music progress was slow but sure). By mid - 2016, the album Nektyr by Demen was ready, and it's stunning. It features hermetic gothic swan songs crafted from funereal piano, twilight ambience, minimalist percussion, and mesmerizing vocals. The mood is soothing and rich yet full of sorrow, with stark grey structures standing in the night. The large gaps between notes enhance the melancholic grandeur of Orm's arrangements, blurring the line between lament and lullaby. The songs fade away gently, surrendering to their own sad beauty.
