Description
We're thrilled to unveil the very first vinyl edition of Jon Krocker's debut album 'Monolog'. Originally released on cassette in 1983, Jon, hailing from Winnipeg, Canada, started as half of the synth noise duo Dialog. While studying for a BA in Film Studies from 1981 - 82, he'd head to the studio to practice, composing on the spot without pre - written material. His setup included a Minimoog, Oberheim Two Voice, and more. After sharing some songs with Impulse Records' owner Roman Panchyshsyn, the album was released on cassette by Contagious Records. Influenced by German artists like Conrad Schnitzler and Kraftwerk, Jon's music has a cold, machine - like quality. The 12 instrumental tracks are stark, minimal, sometimes anxious, and overall space - oriented. All songs have been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Each copy comes with an 8 - page newsprint zine featuring ephemera, press clippings, photos, and Jon's liner notes.
To enjoy this vinyl album, simply place it on your turntable and gently drop the needle onto the record. Make sure your turntable is set up properly for the best sound quality. When handling the vinyl, always hold it by the edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches. After each use, return the album to its sleeve to protect it from dust. Keep the album in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent warping. The included 8 - page newsprint zine is a great addition to your collection. Handle it with care to avoid tearing. Enjoy exploring the ephemera, press clippings, photos, and liner notes while listening to the music.
