Description

This is a limited 180gm vinyl LP of Ella Fitzgerald's 'Mack the Knife: Ella In Berlin'. Recorded in 1960, it captures the start of her European tour. At 43, Ella delivers her typical energetic performance. You'll hear her Satchmo impersonation in 'Mack the Knife', a long scat session in 'How High the Moon', and a collection of Gershwin and Porter tunes. Backed by pianist Paul Smith's quartet, her voice is earthier than usual and her phrasing is charming. She's tender on 'Misty' and sultry on 'Too Darn Hot'. Known as the First Lady of Song, Queen of Jazz, and Lady Ella, she's famous for her pure tone, perfect diction, great phrasing, and horn - like scat singing.

To use this vinyl LP, first make sure your record player is clean and in good working condition. Place the LP gently on the turntable, center it, and lower the tonearm carefully. Enjoy the music at a suitable volume. When not in use, store the LP in its sleeve to protect it from dust and scratches. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid touching the playing surface with your fingers to prevent smudges. If the LP gets dirty, you can use a record cleaning brush to gently remove the dust.
