Description

This 2015 double vinyl LP is a masterpiece by the Grammy - winning saxophonist, arranger, composer, bandleader and producer Bob Belden. Sadly, it's his last recording as he passed away from a massive heart attack at 58, just weeks before the final mastering. Featuring guest bassist Bill Laswell in his band Animation, Belden enlisted vocalist Kurt Elling as narrator for this cyberpunk opera inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey. Elling was directed to'sound like a sad, well - spoken computer'. Belden's text is like an excerpt from Philip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, which influenced Blade Runner. The dark music, played by a great lineup including Pete Claggett on muted trumpet, takes inspiration from Miles Davis' 'He Loved Him Madly'.

To enjoy this double vinyl LP, simply place it on your record player. Make sure the player is clean and the needle is in good condition. Avoid exposing the vinyl to direct sunlight or high temperatures as it can warp the record. After each use, gently clean the vinyl with a soft, anti - static brush. Store the LP in its sleeve and keep it in a cool, dry place to maintain its quality. And sit back, relax, and let the amazing music of Bob Belden and his team transport you to a cyberpunk world.
