This is a limited vinyl pressing of a truly rare gem from the acid - soaked early 1970s. It's from a short - lived psych - folk project featuring former Tyrannosaurus Rex percussionist Steve Peregrin Took and Pink Fairies/Motörhead member Larry Wallis. In February 1970, Took and Mick Farren formed Shagrat after splitting with Twink. They then recruited Wallis on guitar and backing vocals, and Tim Taylor on bass. Mick Farren left soon and never recorded with the band. Shagrat later became Took's band with Wallis, Taylor, Phil Lenoir on drums, and later Dave Bidwell on percussion. Shagrat was an offshoot of the 1970 - 1972 Pink Fairies and set the pattern for Took's solo career. It also influenced the 1973 Pink Fairies that recorded the Kings Of Oblivion album, as Farren recommended Wallis to the Fairies based on his work with Shagrat.
