Pianist Junior Mance, an experienced musician who has worked on numerous albums and performances with Dinah Washington and Cannonball Adderley, was given a chance to record his own album by Norman Granz during a session with Dizzy Gillespie. The outcome is this 1959 debut album, filled with bluesy and swinging music, featuring Gillespie’s drummer Lex Humphries and bassist Ray Brown.
