The members of The Great Waste of Time met at the Frankfurt School of Applied Biomechanics and Social Engineering in the late 1980s but didn't graduate. After being expelled, they went their separate ways and explored dead - ends like researching poverty, drinking, unemployment, etc. They ended up in Stockholm in the late 1990s, facing more boredom and despair. Then, the urge to kill time led them to start a band. Now, their magnum opus, Instead of Nothing At All, is here. This album features 18 songs targeting the problems of the modern world, such as racism, religion, greed, and stupidity. Rooted in the DIY punk ethic, the band recorded and mixed it in the basement and bedroom. Instead of Nothing At All is an angry, chaotic hardcore punk symphony with pop sensibilities and a sense of doom. With short, furious rhythms (most songs under a minute), it combines super - charged lethargy, punk stupidity, and dark pop explosions. The often - unintelligible vocals express rage and despair, and the apocalyptic lyrics are full of death and destruction.
To enjoy this album, simply play it on your music player. You can listen to it at home, in the car, or wherever you like. There are no special requirements for playing it. Just sit back and let the angry and energetic punk music wash over you. Since it's a digital or physical music product, there's not much to maintain.
