The Mountain Goats, a quartet of John Darnielle, Peter Hughes, Jon Wurster, and Matt Douglas, have been making music together for years. Three members live in North Carolina and one's back in Rochester. Their songs explore dark places where monsters lurk, aiming to find treasure and lead monsters to redemption. Since 1991, they've been chasing the question: 'What's so terrible about monsters, anyway?' They won't stop until all possibilities are explored.
