He bought recording equipment and spent a year recording in his basement. The album is a multi - faceted whole. Its lyrics are like snapshots and torn letters, and song titles form a poem of heartache and redemption. The aura of quiet desperation and hard - won grace in the music can be interpreted as you like. On March 31, 2017, Merge Records released a new vinyl pressing of this album.
