Guo4

GUO4 is the first release on Mute by the multidisciplinary duo Guo, formed by Daniel Blumberg and Seymour Wright. In this latest installment of their series, they've joined forces with Crystabel Riley on drums, Fran Edgerley [Assemble] for text, and Peter Strickland for film. The name 'Guo' refers to an ancient Chinese metal vessel or cooking pot. The album blends alto saxophone, electric guitar, feedback, and metal distortion with unique 'ekphrasis' responses from various collaborators. Mixed by Marta Salogni, it also features original etchings by Guo and stills from the film. Previous releases included contributions from David Toop (GUO1) and Brady Corbet (GUO2).
