Green Street (Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series)

Grant Green kicked off his long - lasting and productive Blue Note career in 1961 with the release of his debut album, 'Grant’s First Stand'. It was a remarkable soul - jazz album where Green played in an organ trio, with Baby Face Willette on Hammond B3 and Ben Dixon on drums. In April of the same year, he returned to Van Gelder Studio, again with a trio but this time with a lighter sound. Green was backed by bassist Ben Tucker and drummer Dave Bailey. The simple setup and strong support gave Green plenty of space to show off his skills, playing his creative and bluesy lines in a 5 - song set. This set included straightforward originals like 'No. 1 Green Street', 'Grant’s Dimensions', and 'Green With Envy'. Green also presented his unique tone in a stunning version of Thelonious Monk’s '‘Round About Midnight' and an appealing rendition of the classic 'Alone Together'. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is in stereo, all - analog. It was mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.

Using this vinyl record is easy. Just place it on your turntable and use the tonearm to drop the needle gently onto the groove. Start from the outside edge and let the music play. When handling the record, make sure your hands are clean to avoid getting dirt or fingerprints on it. This can affect the sound quality. After each use, put the record back in its sleeve to protect it from dust and scratches. Store it in a cool, dry place, standing upright on a shelf. Avoid stacking heavy objects on top of it. If the record gets dirty, you can use a record cleaning brush to gently remove dust. Don't use harsh chemicals as they can damage the vinyl.
