Don't Lose This

In 1998, Roebuck 'Pops' Staples, the leader and patriarch of the Staples Singers, recorded his final session. At the time of his passing in 2000, the tapes were unfinished and went to his daughter, Mavis. She patiently waited for the right chance to complete the recording as Pops had intended. When Mavis started her amazing collaborations with Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, beginning with 2010's You Are Not Alone and continuing in 2013 with One True Vine, she knew she'd found the perfect person to work on her father's record. Mavis chose the title because her father told her 'Don't lose this' when giving her the tape of his final recordings. While Pops' original voice and guitar on the record are untouched, Mavis felt the songs needed something extra. So, she asked Jeff Tweedy to enhance the tracks, and together they crafted this beautiful album.

If you have a physical copy, keep it away from extreme heat, moisture, and scratches. When storing, place it in a cool, dry place.
