Experimental lute player Jozef Van Wissem and well - known film director and musician Jim Jarmusch first met on a New York City street in 2006, quickly forging a friendship. Van Wissem contributed to the 2013 movie Only Lovers Left Alive's soundtrack. They've previously worked on three studio albums: Apokatastasis, Concerning the Entrance Into Eternity, and The Mystery of Heaven. An Attempt to Draw Aside the Veil is their second Sacred Bones Records release as a duo, picking up where The Mystery of Heaven left off. This mostly instrumental album's power lies in minimalism.
